Poker Taboo: Don't Take the Fun Out of the Game
A poker taboo is to take the fun out of the game by being so adamant in winning, but stopping at nothing else to get it. In the event, you learn nothing from the game, and find yourself blaming the game for some gaming mistakes that you have managed to do.
Oh, if only you knew better. That's what you are thinking: If you only knew better indeed.
Well, maybe if you had made another certain move instead of what you chose to use, maybe, things would've been better on the gaming grounds. But, you played hard. And you thought that playing that way would help.
You thought that using certain tricks on gambling like bluffing your moves will make you win. But, to what you have seen and experienced after the playing session ended, it didn't do you any good at all.
So, you may get mad at the game. You spill your angst anywhere you turn because you think you got cheated. Who wouldn't think that way when you played so hard but ended up losing the session? You played so hard and thought that discarding the fun part of the game will make you the winner at the end of the playing session.
All these thoughts are wrong, as you have learned. Why, oh why, oh why?
The hard truth that you should bear in mind, then? You should've relaxed a bit so you can see that the game is pleasurable. You shouldn't have played so hard that you decided not to have fun on the gaming halls.
Well, what did you get when you chose not to acknowledge the real value of the game, which is the excitement and pleasure that it can bring to players like you? Nothing. And now you know that you have made a poker taboo on your own.
So, make that a lesson. Carve it on stone if you have to. Chalk it up to memory. Jot it down somewhere where you can always see it. Never, ever remove the pleasure and excitement of the game and make it like your last game where you would play so aggressive and hard that you stress yourself in the process.
Playing hard is playing right where you still retain the fun part of this game of chance. When you take it like this, you would see that you can be assured that you won't commit another poker taboo again and hate yourself or the playing session again.
